Tobacco Extract for Inhibition of Carbon Steel Corrosion in H2S-contained NaCl Solution

This study explored the effectiveness of tobacco extract as a corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel in an H2S-containing NaCl solution. The experiments were conducted at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, with variation concentration rate fluid flow. Results showed that decreases 3.5% Increasing flow significantly affect steel. In solution, crystalline product formation magnetite (Fe3O4) was mainly detected. Furthermore, presence H2S leads to forming mackinawite (FeS) structure. inhibition efficiency 1000 2000 ppm solution is range 24 69%.
